In 2013, Stichting Meesters op Straat and the Rijksmuseum launched the Meesters op Straat (Masters on the Street) project. The initiative decorates each Amsterdam street that carries the name of a Dutch Master (ie. Ferdinand Bol Street, Frans Hals Street) with two artworks: a reproduction of a Master’s paintings and a contemporary interpretation of it.
Luzie is an interpretation of Ferdinand Bol’s ‘Self-Portrait’ (Rijksmuseum collection). The two works were exhibited on Ferdinand Bol Street, as 5 meter high banners, from March 2013 until August 2015.
